JAKO is now the official supplier of Jugend trainiert für Olympia & Paralympics

The German School Sports Foundation (DSSS) and JAKO AG announce the start of their partnership. Since 1 January 2025, JAKO, as the official supplier of the DSSS, has played a central role in equipping volunteers, officials and teams, including in the nationwide school sports competition Jugend trainiert für Olympia & Paralympics. The collaboration will initially run until the end of 2028.

Shared values for young people

At the centre of the partnership is the common goal of promoting team spirit among young people. Both JAKO and the DSSS share the conviction that sport conveys important values such as respect, fairness and team spirit and creates emotional moments that characterise young people.

The DSSS, which has been the sponsor and organiser of the world's largest school sports competition - Jugend trainiert für Olympia & Paralympics - since it was founded in 1999, is particularly committed to promoting extracurricular school sports. As part of the partnership, JAKO provides team clothing for the volunteers and officials at the national finals in Berlin and at the winter finals.

‘Sport is integrative and connects people across all social boundaries. It is a central component of the development of children and young people and teaches essential skills such as teamwork, determination and fairness. We at JAKO are committed to this mission and are delighted to enter into a strong partnership with the German School Sports Foundation to further promote sport in Germany,’ says Tobias Röschl, JAKO Board Member for Marketing & Sales.

‘The DSSS has found a strong partner in JAKO. We both share a common understanding of the values of fair play, performance and team spirit, which are so outstandingly tangible for the teams, especially in ‘Jugend trainiert’. With our new partnership, we are creating the conditions for standardised team clothing for the participating school teams. In this way, we are strengthening the feeling of cohesion and identification - an important step towards further promoting community spirit in and around the sports arena. We are proud and grateful to be starting out with JAKO,’ says Miriam Vogt, DSSS board representative for marketing.

The German School Sports Foundation is the sponsor and organiser of the school sports competition Jugend trainiert für Olympia & Paralympics, which for more than five decades has inspired around 800,000 pupils throughout Germany every year to achieve top sporting performances and experience the value of community.

Under the umbrella of the German School Sports Foundation, the 16 education authorities of all federal states, the German Olympic Sports Confederation and its 16 sports associations involved in the national competition work together to plan and organise ‘Jugend trainiert’.

‘Jugend trainiert’ is organised annually under the patronage of the current Federal President. Each year, three national finals are held in 26 sports (19 Olympic; seven Paralympic): the winter final (in Bavaria/Baden-Württemberg), the spring final and the autumn final (in Berlin).
