Just in time for the 120th anniversary of the club, we are presenting a unique special jersey together with the 05ER. For the home match against SC Freiburg, the professionals will be wearing a homage to one of the first jersey designs in the club's history: Inspired by the jersey from 1911, the anniversary jersey combines tradition with state-of-the-art sustainability.

Historic design meets modern technology

The basic off-white colour, the red diagonal sash and the classic button collar are reminiscent of earlier times. Instead of the usual club logo, the Mainz wheel adorns the chest as an embroidered emblem - a loving detail that harks back to the club's beginnings. The years of the club's history are immortalised as Roman numerals on the neck.

The partner logos of Kömmerling, IDM and JAKO also blend harmoniously into the retro design: they appear in the historic jersey colours and are flocked in a cotton look. In addition, an exclusive anniversary badge with match day and opponent details makes each jersey a real collector's item.

Sustainability and exclusivity

The design is as traditional as the production is future-orientated: the jersey is made of 100% recycled polyester and thus combines the retro look with innovative textile technology.

The free digital pre-sale starts on 20 March. In addition to the jersey in sizes S to 5XL, ladies 34 to 44 and children 116 to 164, matching off-white caps with the red Mainz wheel are also available.

A jersey full of history

The anniversary jersey will be delivered in April in a high-quality collector's box that allows fans to immerse themselves in the club's history: It includes a five-page comic illustrated by Peter O' Toole, a fine art print and a matching jersey pin.
