A tribute to Leverkusen's city history
The Werkself plays in Ultramarine.
Love lives when your jersey is a piece of history. JAKO and Bayer 04 Leverkusen have presented the Werkself's third jersey for the 2021/22 Bundesliga season under this motto. The look is a tribute to Leverkusen's city history.
The new kit was created in a striped design consisting of two shades of ultramarine. This is a reminiscence of history, as ultramarine production began in 1862 under Carl Leverkus, who gave the city its name, in what is now Leverkusen.
The third jersey is decorated with numerous design elements that symbolise the identity of Bayer 04 Leverkusen. The club emblem with its historically inspired contours is placed on the chest area on the heart side, while the "WERKS11" lettering is placed on the neckband. Neon-coloured contrast tapes on the sides, sleeve cuffs and collar give the match kit a modern character.
With the third jersey, JAKO and Bayer 04 Leverkusen are committing to the city's history as well as to a sustainable future. Like all Werkself jerseys, the new kit is made from recycled polyester micro mesh. The sustainable material is breathable, lightweight and supports the Werkself players in bringing their full potential onto the pitch.
