Sustainable materials

Sustainable materials are becoming increasingly important in today's world. That's why we now rely on recycled polyester and organic cotton for many products. We have developed the JAKO FAIR label especially for these products.

Organic cotton

In our JAKO FAIR products we use organic cotton from controlled organic cultivation or sustainable cotton. Controlled organic cultivation stands for sustainable methods in cultivation and harvesting. The resulting water consumption is lower than in the production of conventional cotton and no chemical fertilizers and/or pesticides are used.

Recycled Polyester

Our recycled polyester comes mainly from collected old PET bottles and plastic waste (post-consumer). After cleaning, the plastic is melted and spun into yarn, which is then used to make a new product. Old textiles can also be used to make fiber pellets, which are used for polyester fabrics. By reusing polyester, we save water and reduce the use of chemicals. The production process also generates up to 60% less energy. This means we have a much smaller impact on the environment.

OUR JAKO FAIR LABEL

The JAKO FAIR label indicates which products meet particularly high standards in terms of sustainability. To this end, we apply strict criteria with regard to the selection of materials. In addition, we ensure that packaging and factory selection are particularly environmentally friendly. The two label levels indicate how high the proportion of sustainable materials or recycled raw materials used is.

With our JAKO FAIR labels, you can see whether the materials of this article consist of 100% or at least 50% recycled raw materials or organic cotton.

The JAKO functional materials support you in every situation. Whether it's soccer training on the sports field, a Sunday walk in the rain or gardening.

KEEP DRY

Microfine fibers transport moisture directly to the surface of the fabric. Thus, the material dries very quickly, protects against cooling and keeps you a comfortable body feeling during sports.

STOP WATER

Waterproof functional materials and welded main seams also provide reliable protection against moisture. The high water vapor permeability guarantees a comfortable body climate.

Doubletex

DOUBLETEX consists of special spun VORTEX® yarns. In this innovative technology, compressed air creates a kind of air vortex. In the process, the fiber ends are firmly anchored in the center of the yarn. This is how we combine the best properties of functional fibers and cotton.
