It all starts in a garage
9th November 1989. The wall falls, a nation celebrates. The entire nation? Not quite. On this day, Rudi Spruegel registrates the JAKO Sportartikelvertriebs GmbH. The idea: equip all clubs in his home Hohenlohe with jerseys and training suits, fast and reliable. The name: JAKO. Inspired by Jagst and Kocher, the two rivers in this region. The location: the garage of his brother in the small town Stachenhausen.
1992
We move to Hollenbach
The first years exceed all expectations. JAKO grows, the garage becomes too small. A new location must be found. Thus, Rudi and his five employees move to the neighbouring Hollenbach. Here the first part of the JAKO head office was build. A small warehouse with additional office spaces.
1997
With Energie Cottbus in the DFB cup final!
The first JAKO pro team hits the headlines big time! Energie Cottbus, a regional-league team, wins trough to the finals against the VfB Stuttgart. Cottbus loses the match 0:2. Its place in the JAKO history books is guaranteed for Energie Cottbus.

1998
New administration building
We move into our first building built exclusively for administration purposes. The new offices are located in the "glass block", as we call it colloquially. The foundations for further successful years have been laid.
1998
JAKO Belgium kicked off
We found a subsidiary company in Lier! JAKO Belgium will continue what started between Jagst and Kocher. From now on we supply teams in the BeNeLux states and France even faster and of course reliably as usual.
1999
Finally, Bundesliga!
We finally made it to the Bundesliga. Perfect timing for the 10-year anniversary, JAKO outfits the 1. SC Freiburg. This is one of many sporting success stories that will follow in the coming years.
2007
We start on the running track
On your mark, get set, go! Everything that applies to the football pitch, we now demonstrate in other sports. For example, on the running track. With the new running outfits, we have expanded our collection with styles for running groups, track and field clubs and recreational athletes.

2009
New look
We now wear JAKO blue. The colours were inspired by the rivers Jagst and Kocher, which shape our brand image. The new logo shows two white river symbols in the middle and this way visualises our identity. Later the JAKO dots will follow as a connecting design element for our jerseys and training suits.
2010
Turbine Potsdam wins the Champions League
The first international title! Our JAKO team Turbine Potsdam wins the most cup in European women’s football. In the final of the Champions League, the girls defeat Olympique Lyon in a penalty shootout.
2014
JAKO Dots
Every brand has unmistakable design elements. For us, these were the two logo elements that symbolise Jagst and Kocher. JAKO Dots will be added in 2014. The four dynamic circular elements can now be found on almost all JAKO products.
2016
The JAKO Teamcenter is even bigger
We start into a new age. In the summer of 2016, we expand our company headquarters in Hollenbach with an administration building. In our new, fully automatic storage system robots pick the orders. Our new company site is now officially called: the JAKO Teamcenter.

2017
With Bayer 04 Leverkusen to the Champions League
In the season 2016/17 we play Champions League for the first time. Bayer 04 Leverkusen had a great season on the big stage of European football. The club wins in the preliminary round 1:0 against Tottenham Hotspur. The first win in England in the history of the club.
2018
For the first time, we generate an annual revenue of 100 million euros
It has started in a garage and now works in over 50 countries worldwide – fast and reliable. Overall, more than 100.000 teams play in JAKO. In the fiscal year 2018 we generate a revenue of over 100 million euros for the first time.
